WHY IS THIS SO CORNY I AM GOING TO DIE.
Ya’ll get to suffer with me.
This is still rough… I’ll probably end up rewriting it before all’s said and done.
Story stuff -
She and Azazel stayed up most of the night, just talking. There were a million things, after all,…

((An in-character bio of my X-Men OC))
My name is Nick, I’m 23 years old, and I live at “Charles Xavier’s School of Gifted Youngsters”. As you’ve probably guessed, I’m a mutant. I’m not like a lot of the other mutants here though. Not because my powers are different, I’ll get to those in a minute, but because I grew up here. You see, my parents are both mutants.
You’ve probably never heard of my mom, Kate Shoore, she was really quiet, with smaller scale powers. I’ve inherited a few things from her, but not much. She was an empath, clairvoyant, and telepath, but nowhere near as powerful as even Jean Grey. She went by the codename Cat, because in addition to those, she had mutant cat-like reflexes, and senses. Everyone always used to joke about how she really did have ‘nine lives’ like a cat, because she survived a number of harrowing near-death experiences. Those jokes aren’t made anymore though, she passed away when I was 16. It was a plane crash, on her way to quietly visit relatives out west. The sort of crash where the plane blows up on impact and there’s no survivors. My dad was broken after that. The older team members tell me he went back to how he’d been before he knew her, so they never really thought much of it. I can see the sadness in his eyes though, even when the others can’t. He hides it well, but I guess that’s the empathic ability I got from her. Jean tells me this was the third woman he’s loved whole-heartedly and lost, so I really can’t blame him.
I honestly can’t imagine anyone not having heard of my dad, he’s one of the most well known of the X-Men, and has even been an Avenger with Iron Man, and Captain America. To be honest, famous to the point it’s a little embarrassing claiming him as family, but hey, he’s still my dad. You could say his name was James Howlett, but he goes by just Logan. (That’s honestly why I have my mother’s last name, they though it would be more fitting to go with her side.) Yep, I am the son of Wolverine. That is the shadow I live in.
I’m not really resentful though, I’m making my own name for myself in the team. The only thing I’m resentful of is having grown up here. Okay, no I’m not. It’s just the older members watched me grow up from the time I was a baby, and I’m still the baby to them. It doesn’t help though, that the mutation that keeps him looking like he’s in his 30’s even though he’s… hold on, doing my math… somewhere around 130, kicked in when I was about 15 or 16. It wasn’t as noticeable at first, but considering the fact that I just now look like I’m turning 18, it’s not really fair. It was okay for a while, but I just want to be taken seriously as an adult, and my outward appearance hinders that, no matter my skills.
Alright, time to talk about my mutations. I know you’re dying to know, do I have claws? Yes, I do, and, yes, it’s three from the back of my hands, just like him. I consider myself lucky, compared to my half-siblings, (Sorta. Does X-23 count as a sibling? I haven’t figured that out yet myself) I guess it’s easier to have them the way Dad does, as opposed to just two, then a third randomly somewhere else. I have the same healing ability that he does, but I have a little more control of it at times. I’ve found myself able to slow it down sometimes, if I’m in a bad situation, like, say, I’m near an angry crowd of anti-mutant protesters. I also noticed a curious effect with my blood. During a mission, I was protecting a wounded team mate, and I took a nasty gash to my side as I jumped in front of an attack. Some of my blood sprayed on her, and when the battle was over, and we were tending to wounds, the areas where my blood had touched had actually healed already.
My senses are extremely heightened compared to the average person, but I’ve found they’re not quite as good as my father’s. This could be because he had time lost, and ‘feral’ and the woods to hone them, it could be because he’s older, and more experienced, or it could be a trade off. I did inherit some of my mother’s empathic ability, though I’m by no means clairvoyant, or telepathic. On top of that, it usually only works if I make eye-contact, so it’s more of an afterthought to me. I do have better agility than my dad though, as well as a few inches of height on him. The agility, I know is because of the weight of the adamantium on his bones. I sorta have that too, but it’s a long story of how it’s different, and lighter than his. I also don’t feel like talking about how I got it right now.
Something that I’m good at though, is manipulation. Some people would say It’s because I’m a scorpio, I like to say it’s from growing up around the X-Men. You’ve gotta learn to play your cards right if you want to get around those watchful eyes. Especially without Xavier’s attention falling to you. I’ve always been a good student though, one for the professor to be proud of, and I’m currently working on an advanced degree through a distance-study program.
I’ve been given my own team, but unfortunately, due to being the baby of the mansion still, it’s the trainee team. So I’ve usually got members cycling in and out a lot. We get our fair share of action, but nothing too big. I do wish I could even just be a team member on the main team, but even though I’ve earned my place 100 times over, my ‘youth’ is holding me back because I don’t get the respect. I don’t know though, I hear the Young Avengers is a good team, maybe I’ll try and talk to Clint about trying out for them if I can get Xavier to find me a good replacement here.
Anyways, that’s me. I guess on a personal note, I love video games, reading, and doing normal stuff when I’m not studying, training, or leading my team.
Introducing my X-Men OC for RP, Nick Shoore. He’s got a long and complex history, and has been a freestanding character in my own work for many years. I’ve brought him back with his original origin, but with a few tweaks. Go ahead and talk to him, ask him questions, poke him, bother him, and annoy him. He’s fully flushed out as a character, seeing as how I created him about 10 years ago, so he should be an interesting chat.
I don’t know if any of my followers are into X-Men, but this is my new RP blog, and mutant-freedom-now is my new master X-Men Rp account Go check it out if you’re interested!
^ my new account, all my followers here should check it out. This blog is also MOVING to Smoke-und-Brimstone
